WHY CARDIO?

When thinking about the mental benefits of exercise, the most thought of answer is probably stress relief. Taking the time out of your day for a little cardio can help manage physical and mental stress. However stress is not the only benefit of regular exercise, studies show a link between regular aerobic exercise and the little things we do everyday. Things like task switching, selective attention, inhibitory control and working memory are a few of the areas you can help improve by doing cardio. Some evidence indicated that higher physical activity levels are associated with better task switching when the upcoming switch is predictable. In another study the results suggested that any bit of exercise appears to have comparable and positive effects on both affective experience and cognitive performance, regardless of age.
